Eeewww Yuck!!

So far, everything looks pretty good, that I have started by seed. I know it isn't much, but I'm always proud of anything I can grow. I haven't transplanted anything yet though...they certainly big enough......I don't know what I'm waiting for really. I guess I just haven't decided where exactly I will put them. I am thinking of putting one of the morning glories in the back, along the fence. It's need a splash of color back there. I think that will look nice.

Anyway, I noticed that my morning glories are now attracting aphids. Eeewww yuck! You know that feeling you get when people talk about lice??? That's exactly how I feel!!! Oh! I've got shivers!! Totally grossed out. So I sprayed them down with soapy water. I don't how quickly it works, or if I'm to dowse them, I don't know. Trial and error, it's what I know. I've never really had this problem before, I'm kind of creeped out. LOL, I don't know why I'm feeling like this.

Anyway, keep your fingers crossed! ^_^

Got Some Sprouters! Yay! ^_^

Went out today to clean some more of my yard and discovered I had some sproutage going on.
This is what's coming up so far:

MG- Knights, I have 3
Catnip, 1
Convulvulous, 5
Daturas, 0

So yay! I'm happy. I'll probably sow some more seed this week. Not sure what I'll do next. shoot, I should throw some lettuce seed in the dirt before it gets to late, and too hot for that.

Holy Smokes it's Been a While!!

My goodness, my goodness! I can't believe I haven't been here in a year! I can't even list all the things that have happened. I can say though that I'm WAAAAY behind schedule, as far as gardening goes. But! I made a start today. With Taiter's help, we planted some seeds:

1) Catnip (hopefully the neighborhood cats stay out of it--we'll see how that goes!)
2) Triple Yellow Daturas
3) Morning Glories - Knights (a new one for me)
4) Convolvulus Ensign

I know it's only 4 different kinds, but we did 4 of each. I'm hoping to see some 'sproutage' in the next week or so!

Nothing Much Going On

I was surprised we had a frost warning the other night. And of course I forgot to cover everything up. Thank goodness though, everything made it through with no problem. We've been getting hit with so many storms (and an earthquake!!). The weather is so crazy this Spring, it's just amazing. I wonder what all the poor animals think?

Anyway, I've got quite a few things to transplant into the ground. My Dahlias and Amaranth need to be put into the ground very soon. I probably should have done it today....but you know, I really needed to scrub my bathrooms! And tomorrow it's supposed to rain - again! I also need to start another batch of lettuce. Taite really loved eating all that we had grown. ^_^ I'm glad he enjoyed it. Oh yeah that reminds me. I also need to transplant my tomato plants and 2 of my habanero plants. Yay! ^_^ Guess that means I need to start eating some eggs......because the shells are an excellent source of calcium for the tomatoes. I'm not sure about the peppers though.

Last fall, when I became too lazy (>_<) to harvest anymore morning glory seed, they had fallen all over my flower bed. So now I've got all these little morning glory seedlings popping up all over the place. I really need to pull those up. Hmm....same thing happened to my datura. But I haven't seen of those sprouting up (yet). Heck I can't even get the ones I (purposely) planted to sprout. Was I supposed to refrigerate first? I can't remember. I'll have to find out.

Well, I guess I've rambled long enough for one day. ^_^
Until next time! ^_^

Doing the Happy Dance!

YAY! I was quite surprised to find 5 tomato sprouts and all 3 habanero sprouts today!! FINALLY! I was beginning to give up hope --but no! They pulled through! lol I still have banana & bell peppers I'm waiting for, but you won't hear any complaints from me now. ^_^ Oh, and the Hopi Red Amaranth have all sprouted as well.

I was able to transplant 2 of 3 kinds of morning glory today. That was fun. ^_^ Got some seed sowing in. This today's list:

Lilac Datura
Black Currant Datura
EyeBall Plant
Purple Butterfly Bush
Huechera Bronze

The eyeball plant and butterfly bush I've tried in the past, and for whatever reason I could never get them to even sprout. I'm giving it another shot. It's my first time for both dats, tatsoi, and huechera. Actually it's my first time for quite a few things I've got going.

The tulips already have buds! They will be opening soon. I should take some before and after pictures. heehee!

Quick Run Down

Let's take a tiny trip back in time.........

Sunday, April 6th

My unnamed morning glory has sprouted. The first of three anyway.

Friday, April 11th

2 of 3 Grandpa Otts are sprouting. This is why I love morning glories so much. They have got to be the easiest thing to start from seed. Highly recommended for newbie gardeners. ^_^

Saturday, April 12th

I noticed that #1 and #2 Red Dahlia have sprouted. Yay!

Tuesday, April 15th

I recieved some tulip bulbs (already sprouting) for my birthday. I think they are going to be very pretty. I don't know if these are 'named', so I will give them names ~ Terry, Troix, Trent, and Taite ^_^. How's that? ^_^ Anyway, here are the descriptions:

#1 Orange w/ yellow trim
#2 Purple
#3 Red w/ white trim
#4 Yellow

I can't wait to see these in bloom. I will definetly be taking pictures. ^_^

Okay, let's stroll ahead to today .................

Today, Wednesday, April 16th

I divided my lettuce (#1), because it looked to be very crowded for it's container. Maybe I should have left it alone because now it looks sick. I gave it a little drink afterwards, so maybe it'll perk up tomorrow. I hope.

I did a naughty thing today. It was breezy today, but really nice. My youngest son was running around with the neighbor kids and I was outside listening for them and cleaning some of the little twigs and such out of my flower bed and casually tossing them into the yard, letting the wind blow them away. I know, I know, it was really bad. But it wasn't enough to fill a yard bag. You know how huge those bags are! >_<

So anyway......I'm a bit disappointed in my tomatoes and peppers. They aren't doing a darn thing. Oh- I take that back. One of my tomatoes has something sprouting in it. It looks more like a blade of grass than a tomato sprout. I'm almost ready to chuck them out. Almost.
